Japanese 3D puzzles are a different hobby from flat jigsaws: you build an object, not a picture. This collection gathers the four formats made in Japan, all officially licensed and all shipped from our warehouse in Fukuoka. None of them needs glue, paint or tools.
Nanoblock micro building blocks
Made by Kawada in Japan since 2008, Nanoblock uses blocks of 4 x 4 x 5 mm, roughly a quarter the size of a standard brick. That scale is what allows a Pokemon or a Japanese landmark to fit in the palm of your hand with real detail. Sets build in 30 minutes to 3 hours depending on the piece count. Miniatuart paper craft
Sankei's Miniatuart kits are layered paper models: pre-cut sheets that slot into each other to form a scene with real depth, Totoro at the bus stop, Kiki over the harbour, Howl's castle in motion. Character 3D puzzles
Interlocking plastic pieces that assemble into a figure: the Yoshi 3D puzzle (45 pieces, 10.4 cm), the Kirby 3D puzzle (36 pieces, 6 cm), Mario, Doraemon, Astro Boy and the Totoro crystal puzzle. Twenty to forty minutes each, sturdy enough to sit on a desk for years, and the easiest entry point into 3D puzzles. 3D Craft paper landmarks
Japanese landmarks rebuilt in card, layer by layer: Himeji castle, Osaka castle and the Kinkakuji golden pavilion, with curved roofs and stone bases reproduced in relief. These are the longest builds in the collection, 4 to 8 hours, and the most rewarding to display. All of them, plus the Nanoblock Himeji deluxe set, are gathered in the Japanese castle puzzles.
